Me And My Mutts

…about the newest Tippy book? After a bit of a long birthing process, it’s here and available! yay! You can find it on Amazon, ask your favorite bookstore to order it for you, click on the links on my webpage, or just flag me down if you see me out in public – there are always books in my truck, lol. And the latter approach gets you a signed, personalized copy.

Although the title is Tippy Makes a Move, there’s no move on the horizon (thank heavens!). Rather, this book recounts the story of our (somewhat) recent move from the House in the Woods to the House in the Mountains. The story follows Tippy and his family as the move is announced and undertaken – much to Tippy’s displeasure. All of the Tippy books carry a lesson, and Tippy Makes a Move focuses on friendships – old and new. When I was a girl scout we used to sing a song about friendship – maybe you sang it, too? “Make new friends, but keep the old – one is silver but the other’s gold.”It was sung as a round, and to hear it now brings back warm memories of campfires, flashlights and roasted marshmallows. But the message of the song is as true now as it was back when I sang it at Camp Little Cloud. Our hearts are expandable, and as Tippy learned in the very first Tippy book, there’s always room for move love, and new friendships are out there just waiting to be made.

Susan Spellman has again worked her magic with the illustrations, bringing the story to life with color, humor and creativity and great heart. I think you’ll love Tippy Makes a Move, and so will the dog lovers and friendship seekers in your life – no matter their age.
